Author Biographies

Reinhold Hedtke, University of Bielefeld, Germany

Prof. Dr. Reinhold Hedtke is professor emeritus of economic sociology and social science education at the Faculty of Sociology, Bielefeld University, Germany. Until recently, he was a senior professor at Faculty of Social Sciences, Goethe University Frankfurt. His current research focuses on economics of convention in the field of citizenship education, innovative approaches of socio-economic education, critical participatory education, social science education under the conditions of class society.

Jan Löfström

Jan Löfström, PhD, is Professor of History and Social Studies Education in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Turku, Finland. He has been engaged in the designing of History and Social Studies exams and assessingexam papers in the Finnish Matriculation Examination since 2000, also as the Head of the Section for Social Studies.
