Author Biographies

Mehmet Acikalin, Istanbul University - Cerrahpaşa

Mehmet Acikalin is a professor in the Department of Social Studies Education at Istanbul University - Cerrahpaşa, Turkey. He received his master degree from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 2002 and PhD from The Ohio State University, USA in 2006. His research interests are computer-supported instruction in social studies, global education and social studies teacher education. 

Olga Bombardelli, University of Trento

Olga Bombardelli is senior professor of Educational Studies at the Department of Humanities at the University of Trento (Italy), former J.Monnet Professor in the field of European Citizenship education. Cooperates in European projects and in teacher associations. Her research interests are inclusive education, teacher training, civic and ciizenship education, sustainable development.

Gina Chianese, University of Trieste

Gina Chianese PhD, is Associate Professor at the Department of Humanities, University of Trieste. Her research interests focus on adult education (with particular reference to the construction of professional profiles; guidance in the different contexts and ages of life; the founding elements of the concept of competence); intergenerational learning and citizenship education. Her current research projects investigate the development of educational professions and well-being and sustainable work condition.
